In the beginning of the book she goes to a new high school and she doesn’t feel confident and wishes she was as strong as May used to be and all that. In one of the last letters she explains what happened. The entire book she refers to her dead sister May and how guilty she feels about her death and that she thinks it’s all her fault. In these letters she tells the story of her life. ![]() ![]() Usually I hate books that are written in the form of letters, which is the reason why I still haven’t read The Perks of Being a Wallflower. So to come to the point of this book, it’s all written in letters to dead person, most of them to Kurt Cobain. I don’t know, but somehow all the books that I genuinely liked are books in which at least one person died. And maybe also the dead sister part is kind of what attracted me a bit. Laurel chooses Kurt Cobain – he died young, and so did Laurel’s sister May – so maybe he’ll understand what Laurel is going through”. For me as a hardcore Nirvana fan it was a must to buy it. “ It begins as an assignment for English class: write a letter to a dead person. The first and main reason for me to start reading this book was because of the second sentence of the blurb at the back of the book. ![]()
